The Academic Integrity Council considers significant infractions of academic honesty. It is the sole body with authority to assign the University level penalties of suspension or expulsion for academic dishonesty. Cases coming before the Board must be fully documented by evidence. The Board shall not hear matters subject to the jurisdiction of the Student Conduct Board or general academic complaints that should be referred to a dean or the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Its decision is final and may not be challenged through the scholastic appeals process.

Academic Integrity Council

The Academic Standards Council is a subcommittee of the Faculty Senate and reports directly to Faculty Senate. The purpose of the ASC is to recommend to Faculty Senate and then to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs university policy and procedures pertaining to undergraduate academic standards for admission, progression, and the granting of degrees and certificates.

Students who do not meet the admission criteria are asked to petition. This committee reviews those petitions and makes an admission decision.

The ISU Alumni Association Board of Directors is made up of volunteer alumni leaders who represent ISU’s 85,000 living alumni. The Board includes officers, directors, alumni chapter presidents and student leadership.

Associate Deans' Council

The Associated Students of Idaho State University are committed to providing effective student participation and representation in all areas of student life. Including the improvement of educational programs, co-curricular activities, and services, and advance the common interests and concerns of the student body.

Serves the president and the AD in an advisory capacity and assists them by reviewing and/or making recommendations relative to: Policies governing ISU’s intercollegiate athletics. ISU’s relationship with the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference, and other athletic related organizations. The AAB conforms to the NCAA regulations found in Bylaw 6.1.2.

Assists in promoting the well-being and success of the Department and all student-athletes within the university environment. Monitors university departmental activities dealing with NCAA and the Department’s compliance. Acts as a liaison between the Department and university resources and departments.

A collaborative group that provides behavioral assessments and recommends intervention strategies for students with serious needs and concerns.

CARE Team Information Sheet

The Clery Compliance Committee (CCC), comprised of campus stakeholders from various divisions and departments, promotes university compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act [20 USC § 1092(f)] (Clery Act).

The College of Technology Technology Advisory Group reviews the technology needs at the College of Technology to strategically update equipment. They create a replacement schedule for our computer labs, review new technologies available for instruction, and make recommendations when faculty have technology requests.

Assists the President and Chief Compliance Officer with: 1. Maintaining a Code of Ethics 2. Publishing an index of all major Compliance Areas 3. Coordinating compliance oversight, monitoring and reporting 4. Proposing and reviewing new policies 6. Recommending practices to enhance compliance 7. Assuring University policies are regularly reviewed for compliance; and 8. Training employees on the law, regulations, and policies that apply to their job responsibilities.

Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility ISUPP 1020

Develops, initiates and communicates results of university-wide employee engagement survey. Uses data to inform ISU culture and engagement strategy and initiatives.

Employee Engagement Task Force

Project prioritization for funding recommendations each year that either get funded by ISU or submitted for Permanent Building Funding. Part of the function is open, transparent dialogue and rubric scoring of projects to align with ISU's mission and goals.

If there is a appeal/grievance filed in accordance with ISUPP 4041, an ad-hoc appeals panel is randomly selected from this larger appeals panel. Panelists serve a 3 year term which concludes in May, 2021. This panel needs to be updated as there are multiple retirements and a death of the chair. HR and Academic Affairs should call for nominations of new panelists during the current academic year.

The Faculty Professional Policies Council is a subcommittee of the Faculty Senate and reports directly to Faculty Senate. The Faculty Senate is responsible for submitting and reviewing Idaho State University (ISU) Policies and Procedures that affect faculty welfare. The purpose of the Faculty Professional Policies Council is to provide focused and timely support for Senate by drafting, reviewing, and revising such policies.

The Faculty Senate considers matters referred to it by the University Faculty, Senators, the Executive Vice President/Provost for Academic Affairs, the University President, or the President's representative. It recommends to the EVP/Provost changes in academic and other policies that affect the Faculty, and through the President recommends policy changes to the State Board of Education.

Faculty Senate

The General Education Requirements Committee (GERC) is a subcommittee of the Undergraduate Curriculum Council (UCC). The GERC reports directly to UCC. The purpose of the GERC is: to consider all courses and policies that relate to the University’s general education requirements; to evaluate, on a regular basis, the University’s general education courses for appropriateness, rigor, and assessment; and to make general education curricular recommendations based on these evaluations to the UCC. The General Education Objectives are to be reviewed on a staged 5-year cycle (meaning that not all of the Objectives need be evaluated at once).

GERC

The Graduate Council is responsible for ensuring the quality and appropriateness of graduate courses and graduate degree programs. The Graduate Council provides recommendations concerning establishment and maintenance of requirements for graduation; allocation of privileges such as scholarships, honors, awards and grants-in-aid for graduate students; and the establishment of grade standards to be maintained by graduate students.

Meets every other week to discuss HIPAA compliance efforts, review policies, ensure proper application of security rules, review risk assessments, and counsel on university privacy and security needs.

To review and approve research and instruction projects involving rDNA and biomaterials, according to federal guidelines.

Institutional Biosafety Committee

Led by the Director of Equity and Inclusion. This group meets bi-weekly. Participants include Director of Human Resources, General Counsel, Director of Internal Audit, Vice Provost for Academic Outreach, Dean of Students and the Title IX Coordinator. This group discusses current complaints and cases. They strategize the investigative approach and collaborate when cases cross over into different areas of concern.

Reviews and approves the Idaho State University Foundation’s operating and discretionary spending budget as well as receives the report of the Audit Committee on the annual audited Financial Statements. Review and evaluate major fund-raising campaigns. Assesses progress toward fund raising goals. Assumes stewardship responsibility for the Idaho State University Foundation’s finances. Sets policies for the overall management and operation of the Foundation.

Ombuds Committee

The Radiation Safety Department is dedicated to ensure the safe receipt, use, storage and disposal of radioactive materials and to the safe operation of radiation machines. The Radiation Safety Department is authorized to intervene to prevent hazardous conditions from developing or to eliminate existing unsafe conditions on any matter related to radiation safety.

ISU's planning and institutional effectiveness framework is designed to support and further ISU's mission. This integrated framework forms the basis for ongoing and systemic assessment, adaptation, and improvement.

Students who are dismissed from ISU due to a low GPA are required to petition for readmission. This committee reviews petitions and accompanying documentation and then makes an admission decision or recommendation for educational success.

To provide a faculty voice on matters pertaining to research, scholarship, and creative activity at ISU. Acts in an official advisory role to the Office for Research, including but not limited to evaluation of internal research grant proposals and nominations for the Outstanding and Distinguished Researcher awards.

To maximize the efficient use of the Research Data Center and provide recommendations to the VPR about allocating computing resources.

SAP

Several scholarship committees exist to award ISU donor based endowed and annual scholarships. These committees are made up of faculty, staff, outside committee members, etc. (per fund agreements) to review scholarship applications and make awards based on prescribed criteria.

Membership rotates among faculty and staff for a variety of committees.

The Academic Dishonesty Policy is administered and supervised by Academic Affairs. Instructors are responsible for addressing suspected incidents of academic dishonesty within their respective courses. Deans serve as appellate officers when students challenge the findings and outcomes determined by instructors. Revisions and modifications to this policy are managed by the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Idaho State University Staff Council

Idaho State University and the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Council signed a Memorandum of Agreement on April 9, 2019. The MOA serves as ISU’s and the Tribe's commitment to proactively strengthen the relationships to improve and enrich the quality of educational services, research, and economic development opportunities provided to and by the Tribes and ISU.

Tribal University Advisory Board

The Undergraduate Curriculum Council (UCC) at Idaho State University exercises, at the University level, the faculty's primary responsibility for the fundamental area of undergraduate curricula, ensuring the quality and appropriateness of undergraduate courses and undergraduate degree programs offered by Idaho State University. The UCC reports to the Faculty Senate. The UCC's approval is required for all curricular and program changes that are to appear in the Undergraduate Catalog.

The objective of UARC is to support and review the assessment efforts of the institution in both academic and non-academic programs.

University Assessment Review Committee (UARC)

The Honors Advisory Committee is based on the importance and power of shared leadership. Advisory committee members offer their experience, expertise, and effort to help strengthen University Honors Program (UHP)decision-making processes, as well as promote the program throughout ISU and the community. The Honors Advisory Committee makes recommendations on seminar course selections (HONS 3391), possible co-curricular programming, and vital decisions key to the success of Honors students and the program. Committee members help to elicit support, build understanding, and communicate information regarding the UHP to their colleagues in colleges and departments across ISU. Committee members are also encouraged to participate in faculty panels for various Honors courses and to attend Honors Thesis presentations as representatives of their respective colleges.

The University Library Committee is an elected advisory board that advocates for the library interests of faculty, students, and staff at Idaho State University. To that end, the ULC communicates between its constituencies and library administration; promotes the development of library collections, services, and spaces; advises on the libraries' budget, strategic planning, and assessment; and raises awareness of the value of a vibrant university library system.
